RATTLESNAKE!!!!!!!!
Bill and I went to a regional young adult activity in Lava one night and got home around midnight. As we were walking up the sidewalk to the front door, we could hear a rattling sound. I asked Bill if he could hear it and he said "Yes, It sounds like a rattlesnake." He got a flashlight and sure enough there was one coiled in the flower garden ready to strike. He got out his shot gun and I was relieved that I wouldn't have to worry about it until he told me I had to hold the flashlight so he could see it to shoot it. Needless to say, it took more than one shot because I shut my eyes and accidentally moved the flashlight when he went to shoot. We have had lots of different snakes around in the summer but never a rattlesnake.

Erin's Piano Recital
Erin has taken piano from Sister Gunnell for 3 years. She has come a long way and learned very quickly. It has helped her with her fine motor skills, also. This piano recital was a happy/sad affair. We were so happy that Brother and Sister Gunnell received a mission call to Kirkland, Ohio but very sad that Erin would not have her for a teacher. She is such a calm, patient and loving teacher and friend. We will miss you Sister Gunnell!

Father's Day Surprise!
We had the best Father's Day surprise. Caitlin's horse, Sunny, gave birth to the cutest colt. After many suggestions, Austin and Caitlin decided on the his name DODGER. He looks alot like Sunny. The kids spent most of the day making sure they were both doing good. Jordan makes the horse sign (horse ears by his head) and then makes the baby sign (rocking baby in his arms) and says "Jordan, baby, horse". He has already taken ownership...

Happy 16 Birthday Austin!
Where has the time gone....just seems like yesterday that Austin was following his dad around in his hip pocket. Austin has been so much fun to raise....we are so grateful that he is our son and part of our family! Austin was so excited to turn 16. He was sure that he would be out on a date the minute it happened....but thanks to many prayers he wasn't! Chess Carbol went with us to Boise to a basketball tournament and we celebrated with Anna, Lee and the girls at Texas Roadhouse. Austin and Chess tried out their Casanova skills on the waitress only to have her tell them that she was a student at Boise State and newly engaged! That burst their bubble but she was kind enough to have her picture taken with them.....

We stayed at Anna and Lee's the first night we were there so the next morning on Austin's birthday he got a pancake birthday cake......a little lame but better than nothing!

Erin graduates from Edahow....
Erin and Austin Spicer....Goodbye Elementary School!
Erin and Becca Nelson....her best buddy!
Mrs. Huber....a wonderful teacher!
Erin's 6th grade teacher...Mrs. Hall...THE BEST!
Erin graduated from Edahow Elementary in May. She is so excited to go to Franklin Middle School. I wish that I shared that excitement....she seems so young. She assures me that she is ready! She had fabulous teachers at Edahow. Lisa Baker was her resource room teacher. They had such a wonderful relationship. They were such great friends...always laughing and teasing each other. Her 6th grade teachers were awesome....Joanne Huber and Amber Hall. The whole staff made it such a positive experience with Erin even though she had some challenges. We are so grateful for all the help, the kindnesses and especially the wonderful memories!
Caitlin turns 20!
Caitlin celebrated her 20th birthday on May 21. We did the traditional birthday dinner and celebration with the family. I can't believe where the last 20 years have gone. I will always remember Mother's Day 1989. Bill kept telling me he had something for me but it hadn't arrived yet. Everyday after for 8 days he would say, "Did your present come today?" and I would say "I haven't seen it" and he'd say "I hope it comes soon!" Then on the 21st of May he walked in the door with a beautiful 1 day old baby girl and said "Happy Mother's Day!" It was the best Mother's Day present ever and she had continued to bring sunshine in my life everyday. Happy, Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Austin's Eagle Scout Court of Honor was on May 28. Bishop Williams and Brother Hurley were in charge of the program. They did such a great job. They had a slide show of Austin's accomplishments and of him growing through years. Made me realize how time flies with these little ones. Just seems like yesterday that he was in Bill's hip pocket. Now he is taller than Bill. It was a fun night and I hope he knows just how he has touched so many people's lives. He has learned so much along the way too and thanks to many leaders he finished the journey!
CAITLIN AND RYAN ARE ENGAGED!
Wedding #2 is in the works! Ryan proposed to Caitlin on May 11. Bill and I knew it was going to happen and it was really hard to keep in a secret. Sat., May 9, Ryan came to us to ask us if he could ask for Caitlin's hand. Before he could get it out, Bill said "Of course! What took you so long to ask!" They went for a mountain bike ride up moon light mine. They were at the top, sitting on a rock, just talking. Ryan said, "Cait, I don't think it is going to work out this summer for you to be my girlfriend. I'm going to be in Rigbee and you are going to be here and it is just too far to keep up a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship." Caitlin looked at him like "what are you talking about." He said, "No, I'm serious...it just won't work out for you to be my girlfriend.....so will you be my fiance?" Then he got down on his knee and asked her to marry him. They came home and told us and we were all excited. Griff and Whit were out to her house and they came home quickly so we could all celebrate.....July 11 is the date. Weddings, Weddings, Weddings....

Griffin in officially a UTE!
Griff had to submit a wavier to walk on football at Utah because he was .5 credit short for the NCAA clearinghouse. Thanks to so many people, Mary Johnston, Kate, the compliance person at Utah, and a kind Heavenly Father, his wavier was accepted and he is now officially a Ute! He starts school June 25 and is working out hard so he is ready to play. Go Utes!
Utah Spring Game......
We went to the Utah Spring game in April. They have an alumni vs muss game before the scrimmage. Bill played for the muss because they needed players. He intercepted a pass and ran it right to the goal line. Kyle had them announce that he was the oldest muss player out there.....Never thought he would be mistaken for a Utah man a few years ago!!!! Go Utes!
Pinewood Derby Winner!
Celebration Dinner
We went out to dinner to celebrate Griff and Whitney's engagement. They had a man that was singing so we had him come sing to them. We had a fun time....despite the fish Ryan ordered with all the body parts in tack. It took Jordan a minute to warm up to it. It was sad to see our wonderful week come to an end. It was so fun to be all together again.....family is everything!

I can't believe I'm holding this fish!

Erin ordered a hamburger in Mexico????

We ARE FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She said YES!
We rented a boat to go snorkling. Griff had it all planned to ask Whitney to marry him. He got the boat driver to get a fishing pole. Griff tied a fake ring on the line when Whitney wasn't looking. Then he acted like he was fishing and asked Whitney to come reel in the line. She didn't even see the ring. He said "Hey, Shwhit! What's on the line". She looked and said "What is it". Griff got on one knee and said, "Shwhit will you marry me?" She said "Are you serious?" It was great! She did say "YES" and we were all very happy!
