RATTLESNAKE!!!!!!!!

Bill and I went to a regional young adult activity in Lava one night and got home around midnight. As we were walking up the sidewalk to the front door, we could hear a rattling sound. I asked Bill if he could hear it and he said "Yes, It sounds like a rattlesnake." He got a flashlight and sure enough there was one coiled in the flower garden ready to strike. He got out his shot gun and I was relieved that I wouldn't have to worry about it until he told me I had to hold the flashlight so he could see it to shoot it. Needless to say, it took more than one shot because I shut my eyes and accidentally moved the flashlight when he went to shoot. We have had lots of different snakes around in the summer but never a rattlesnake.

Erin's Piano Recital

Erin has taken piano from Sister Gunnell for 3 years. She has come a long way and learned very quickly. It has helped her with her fine motor skills, also. This piano recital was a happy/sad affair. We were so happy that Brother and Sister Gunnell received a mission call to Kirkland, Ohio but very sad that Erin would not have her for a teacher. She is such a calm, patient and loving teacher and friend. We will miss you Sister Gunnell!

Father's Day Surprise!

We had the best Father's Day surprise. Caitlin's horse, Sunny, gave birth to the cutest colt. After many suggestions, Austin and Caitlin decided on the his name DODGER. He looks alot like Sunny. The kids spent most of the day making sure they were both doing good. Jordan makes the horse sign (horse ears by his head) and then makes the baby sign (rocking baby in his arms) and says "Jordan, baby, horse". He has already taken ownership...

Happy 16 Birthday Austin!

Where has the time gone....just seems like yesterday that Austin was following his dad around in his hip pocket. Austin has been so much fun to raise....we are so grateful that he is our son and part of our family! Austin was so excited to turn 16. He was sure that he would be out on a date the minute it happened....but thanks to many prayers he wasn't! Chess Carbol went with us to Boise to a basketball tournament and we celebrated with Anna, Lee and the girls at Texas Roadhouse. Austin and Chess tried out their Casanova skills on the waitress only to have her tell them that she was a student at Boise State and newly engaged! That burst their bubble but she was kind enough to have her picture taken with them.....

What a grin.......he is so cute!

We stayed at Anna and Lee's the first night we were there so the next morning on Austin's birthday he got a pancake birthday cake......a little lame but better than nothing!
