So many fun things this weekend.....
To start with Jordan and Joshua turned 12 on the 21st of Oct. So hard to believe that they are that old. We had a birthday breakfast for them with Grandpa and Mindy. They got to open their presents from us.....they each got roller blades and a remote control car. They were so excited they didn't want to go to school!
Hailey, Mal, Avie and Branson came on Friday and we continued with the celebration. Getu and Mezzie came over and we had dinner with birthday cake and ice cream and then went to Deleta roller skating. Everyone took turns pushing Avie and Branson in the stroller. They all had a great time.
It was not only a great birthday weekend, but a FANTASTIC football weekend. On Thursday Austin played with the JV team against Poky. He had two pics. The second one was with seconds left on our 5 yard line to save the game. If Poky would have scored on it, they would have won. It was so fun. Austin was so happy!
Saturday we went to the Utah vs Colorado State game. The best part of the game came towards the end when Griff scored a TOUCHDOWN! I stood up and was screaming and jumping up and down and this guy in front of us looked at me and said "Do you know him?" and I said, "Yes, he's my son". Austin was yelling as loud as I was. We were so excited for him. I'm sure just the first of many more to come!
Last but certainly not least, Jordan and Josh received the Aaronic Priesthood on Sunday. I was a little nervous about Jordan receiving it because he just doesn't understand it. I talked with the Bishop last week and he said the sweetest thing that put it all in perspective for me. He said, "We have a good bunch of 12 year olds that pass the Sacrament each week. But no ones hands or heart will be cleaner than Jordan's. We need to receive the Sacrament from him." The Bishop had tears in his eyes when he said it and the spirit was so strong. Jordan is someone we can learn so much from if we are only patient and listen with the spirit. Dad ordained Josh and Austin ordained Jordan. Austin didn't even know that he could until we got in the Bishop's office. He did such a good job. He told Jordan how much we love him and how grateful we are to have him. He blessed him to be able to have conversations with people and that his seizures would stop. What faith and a great spirit he brought into the room. He is going to be an awesome missionary just like his brother.
A long post....I know. But just so many good things in our lives. We are so grateful!
