Game 6...Utah vs Pitt

Game 6 was against Pitt in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Whit and I arrived at the airport to find that our flight was an hour late leaving and that would mess up our connections for the whole trip.  We were able to get rerouted...ended up being better connections.  We got to Pittsburgh Sat. two hours before the game.  We went to church the next morning and then flew home.  It was a fun trip and so fun because we WON!  GO UTES!

The game was played at Heinz Field where the Steelers play.
 Our favorite return man....#16...Griff McNabb!

Happy 13th Birthday Josh and Jordan!

WOW! Where does time go?  My babies just turned into teenagers....13. Jordan has been turning the calendar to October for the past 6 months so his birthday would come faster.  The day started with Josh choosing their birthday breakfast....pancakes and sausage. They got to spend the day of their birthday with Grandma Cindy, Kirk, Kaylee and Dillon.  They loved that.  We celebrated on Sunday with a family dinner, cupcakes, homemade ice cream and of course presents.  They were a little sparse from mom and dad because Disneyland was their big gift.  As always, Auntie Rhonda came through and spoiled them.  Happy Birthday Jordan and Josh....WE LOVE YOU!
Jord, Grandpa McNabb and Josh with their birthday "whoppers".
Happy Birthday cupcakes....

Just a little harder to blow out all "13" of those cupcakes.
It's all about the presents.

We Can Do Hard Things!

Courage....so many things take courage.  Sometimes it seems that the easiest thing to do is run away...but we know that the easiest is not always the best.  Let me explain...Josh is so shy to talk, sing, read, etc. in front of others.  When he was in Primary, the Presidency would ask him to give a talk.  I would help him prepare it and we would practice it.  When the time came for him to give it, he would bury his face in my lap and not do it.

The Bishop called him in last Sunday for his birthday interview.  He asked him to give a talk this week.  I was waiting in the hall for him and the door suddenly swung open and Josh said that the Bishop wanted to talk to me.  He told me that he had asked Josh to give a talk and that he was a little apprehensive about it.  He was so sweet with Josh.  He told him that he had all the confidence in him that he could do it and do a good job.  He asked him to pick a topic out of the Strength of the Youth booklet and to share his testimony.

On Wed., Josh and I went to work.  He chose "Friendshipping" on what he wanted to talk about.  Together we wrote his talk.  He was so cute about how he really wanted to say that you needed to choose good friends and be a good friend.  He also really wanted to say in his testimony that he was grateful for his family.  He practiced it everyday two or three times.

Today was the day of his talk.  When the Bishop got up to announce the program, he said that Josh would be talking and he also said that Josh always did everything that the Bishop asked him to do.  What a compliment!  He did an AWESOME job on his talk.  So many people commented how well he did.  Yes, we can do hard things.....especially if it is the right thing.  I'm so proud of you Josh!

Oh Summer.....Please Stay....

We have had such a beautiful summer and fall.  I can't believe it is the end of October and our flowers are still beautiful.  Not for long though.....it is suppose to freeze this week.
James Matthew Barrie said, "God gave us memory so we could have roses in December".  I'm going to enjoy these memories all winter long!

This is the first year of my rose garden.....and it flourished.

My dad loved to plant begonias and I usually buy mine all ready planted but this year I planted my own.  It reminded me of my dad and made me so happy!

The Happiest Place on Earth.....

I love, love, love Disneyland.  Don't know if it is because it reminds me of all the happy vacations we took as I was growing up to visit my grandparents in Southern California or if it is just the magic, but I love Disneyland.
We have lots of fall birthdays.....Kirstin, Kira, Josh and Jordan.....so we decided to go to Disneyland for everyones birthdays.  Erin and I just tagged along with the birthday party!  Rhonda and Cindy came too so we really did have a party.
We flew out early Friday morning.  We spent Friday and Saturday at Disneyland, Sunday at Cachi and Manae's and another half day at Disneyland Monday before we flew home.  We had so much fun! We only had two casulties....lost Jordan and Erin for a short time and Grandma Cindy lost her breakfast after one of the rides.
It was all worth it listening to Kira on the way to the airport......she said, "I saw Tanguled, Cindurella, Doofy, Mickey, Minney, Snow White...."and on and on.  Yes, it is the happiest place on Earth, where dreams do come true!
Kira on the airplane......three going on 13....

We rented a car....okay we could have used one more seat but we love to be close.
Everything was decked out for fall......
