SNoW DaY!

What do you get when you mix a foot of new snow and lot of wind?  That's right.....a snow day!  We haven't had one in a long time.  It is every child's hope when it starts snowing and blowing.  That is unless they have a snowboarding trip with the school snow club planned for that day.  Josh was up at 6:30 am getting everything ready so that after school he could get right on the bus to go to Pebble with the snow club.  I knew it was going to break his heart when I told him that school had been cancelled.  True to my feelings, he went back to bed and when he got up he had the saddest face ever.  What did I do?  What any good mother would do.....I took him up to Pebble so he could enjoy the "no school" day.  That makes for a very happy boy!
The snow was so deep that Minnie could hardly get through it to go potty.
Erin sure loves her dogs....Minnie and Freddy.

The snow is so so pretty.  We really need it.....grateful for this blessing.
This is the sad boy that turned into a very happy snowboarder!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe that we are saying goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013.  Time just keeps marching on.  We aren't big partiers on New Years Eve.  In fact, if we can stay up to bring in the New Year with New York we are doing good.  This year Erin was so excited because the church had a regional New Years Eve dance.  It didn't start until 9 pm. We went over to Melanie and Josiah Dahlstrom's around 7 pm.  Erin asked every 5 minutes if it was time to go.  Melanie fixed Erin's hair and put make-up on her so she would be ready for the dance.  She is so beautiful.  Our baby girl is growing up!

Cousins....

It has been so fun to have Kalli here for the Christmas holiday.  She and Kira have become good friends.  The other day they were downstairs and when we looked down to check on them, Kira was reading Kalli a book.  Kalli loves books.  I hope they can always be good friends.  There is nothing better than having a cousin for a best friend.

Happy 50th Birthday Bev!

Happy 50th Birthday Bev.  Her birthday wasn't until Jan. 2 but we gathered at Grandpa and Mindy's to celebrate on Dec. 30.  That is Grandma McNabb's (Joy) birthday so it was so appropriate to get together to celebrate a birthday on that day.  I am so happy that Bev has joined the 50's club.  When I told Austin that in an email he said that he didn't think that anyone was happy to be in the 50's club!  What does he mean by that ???? We are blessed with the best family ever!

When I was up at the party, I got this picture of Austin in a text from the family he was with.  I love that about his mission.....we get texts all the time of him with the families he eats with.  Love that boy!
