When We're Helping....We're Happy!

Everyday is so fun because we have Kira at our house.  She is so full of life.  The other day, I hadn't made my bed yet and I was downstairs.  I could hear her up in the bedroom and it sounded like she was working really hard.  Finally I heard her yell, "Grandma come here.  I have a surprise for you!"  I went up stairs and she had made my bed.  She had the most beautiful smile on her face.  

I reflected on how we all feel just like her when we serve others.  It doesn't have to be huge...just a smile, a card, a phone call.....just something to let another know you care.  I find myself being taught by my children and grandchildren how to serve and love others as the Savior does everyday.  They are incredible examples to me.  I am so grateful for each one of them and love them with all of my heart!

Happy Birthday DADDY-O!

Daddy-o is always trying to get out of us celebrating his birthday.  But, we won't let it go by unnoticed.  He is very special to us and we love to celebrate his special day.  Ryan, Cait, Kalli and Hannah came down to help us celebrate.  Kirstin and Kira came over, too.  Lindsey Reed, a friend of ours who plays basketball for ISU and her parents came to say "Happy Birthday."  It was a fun night!

We are so blessed to have such an awesome husband, father, grandpa and friend.  There is no one who serves his family and friends with more love and devotion.  What a wonderful example he has been to us.  We are so grateful for him.  We LOVE you Daddy-O!

MINNIE.....

What was our life like without Minnie?  It's hard to remember.  She has taken up a place in each of our hearts.  Kira loves to hold her....which Minnie doesn't always like but she is a good sport and patiently lets Kira love her. 

Minnie has become Erin's sidekick....whether it is feeding the horses, watching TV, reading a book or sleeping, Minnie can be found right at Erin's side.  And maybe the biggest surprise of all, Minnie can be found on Daddyo's lap while he is watching TV downstairs.  Each of our hearts have found a place for Minnie!
