SUU vs Portland St

SUU played Portland St. for homecoming.  Bill and I flew down on Friday.  It was so nice to be able to get to Cedar in 2 hours instead of the usual 5 1/2.  We went to the parade on Sat. morning before the game.  Thor was there so it was fun to get Maddie's picture with him.  Austin sent a short email and said that he had tracked out the Portland St. quarterback and he had told him that his brother played for SUU.  I don't think he will want to listen again after SUU beat Portland St. 17-7.  It was fun to be there to cheer on Griff.

Maddie loves to cheer on her daddy!

Thor dropped a football from the helicopter before the game.
Maddie's all ready for the game...
Griff loves his new scooter...
Cutest cheerleader ever….

So much fun to kiss those cheeks.
Griff loves having Maddie and Whit after the games.

This Boy is on Fire...

We had a Young Women/Young Men's activity out at Meridell Park.  We learned how to properly retire a flag by burning it.  Brother Rich Kirkham talked about the flag and it's importance and then the scouts retired it by burning it.  It was a special experience.  Afterward, we had hot dogs and hamburgers.  Jordan got a little close to the fire and couldn't figure out what the burning smell was.  He just had to lift his foot out and see that "this boy was on fire!"

SUU vs UCD

My two favorite weekends of the year are the first weekend in April and the first weekend in Oct….General Conference weekends.  It's even more fun when it lands on a home game for Griff.  It's fun because we don't have to hurry home Sat. after the game and get to spend the night with Griff and Whit and watch Conference with them.
SUU played University of California at Davis.  They weren't one of the toughest teams in the conference.  But, for some reason we had a hard time with them.  We ended up losing the game 21-3.  Bjorn, Kris and the girls and Cort came to the game.  It was so fun to see them.  Cort stayed Sat. night at Griff's.  Dave and Roxanne stayed too so we had a real party.
It was the first time in the history of the church that the Priesthood Session was televised.  It's always such a blessing to hear from President Monson and the other church leaders.

We loved watching #3.
