As I said in the previous post, Erin loves Homecoming week. She loves all of the activities and attends everyone of them. She came home the Friday before Homecoming week and casually announced that she had been nominated "Homecoming Queen". I told her that it was so great just to be nominated. That even if she didn't get it (which I didn't think she would) that it was an honor to be nominated because not everyone gets nominated. (I was trying to ease the disappointment if she didn't get it.) She told me that they were meeting at lunch on Monday and would then find out who was going to be royalty.
When I picked her up on Monday, she just got in the car without any emotion on her face. Not wanting to hurt her feelings worse I said, "So Erin did you have your meeting today?" She said, with little emotion, "Yes we did." So I continued, "So what happened?" She got a little smirk on her face and said, "Oh, I'm Homecoming Queen!" I said, "Really….why aren't you excited?" She said, "I am but they told us not to give it away or tell anyone."
She is a nut! That girl makes me laugh!
So our sweet Erin is Highland High School's 2014 Homecoming Queen!
It was a week she will never forget. The kids at school are so good to her. But it's not hard to be good to Erin because she is so kind to EVERYBODY and loves everyone.
Erin didn't have a date to the dance so Josh took her. Some of the most popular kids at school invited them to have their pictures taken with them and then go to dinner with them. Josh was so good to do this because he is really shy. And Erin loved every minute of it!
Congratulations Erin…you are BEAUTIFUL!

Noel, Erin's best friend, came to give her support at the assembly. When Erin was announced as the Queen at the assembly the whole student body jumped to their feet and erupted in cheers. Made this mama cry!
