Happy Birthday AMeRIcA!

We LOVE the 4th of July!  We always start the day at the Inkom 4th of July parade.  It is the best parade in the area....lots of patriotism and community spirit.  The McNabb Family is always well represented.
We went to Lava after the parade.  Oh how well I remember the days of the 4th of July in Lava of my youth........many hours working at the pool with millions of people, walking the streets after work meeting new people and watching the fire works. We always had so much fun.  The worst part of the 4th was that it always felt like summer was over after the 4th.
Brian, Kathleen and Nathan were at mom's this year.  We went swimming, barbecued and watched the fireworks.  The fireworks were beautiful and the finale.....the waterfall.....was breath taking.  We had a wonderful day.  How grateful we are for our freedom, for the many lives that others have sacrificed so that we can have the blessings of this great nation.  The USA is the greatest country on Earth. Now....let's just hope that summer isn't really over!

Grandpa McNabb riding his "John Deere" in the parade.

One of the McNabb entries......God Bless America!
Jordan jumped on this McNabb float with Natalie and all of the cousins.
Like father....like son.....two of the best men around!
We are so grateful for our heritage.  John, Karen, cousins, Michael and Bill.
We played at the park before we went to Lava.  Kira loved the swings. She'd say, "push me higher."
The "Oreo" cousins......Austin and Nathan.  Look out girls they are mighty handsome.
Here are the chefs for our barbecue....Brian and Mom.  It was "oh, so good!"
Ben, Kira and Nathan enjoying grandma's patio.
I love my little brother....Brian.

The Parade watchers....Austin, Whitney, Griff, Jordan, Bill and Erin.  Where is their candy????

Bear Lake Adventure

Last year we had the inaugural McNabb/Long camping trip.  We had so much fun that we decided that we would do it every summer.  Lee and Anna planned last years adventure.  We camped in tents, ate over the camp fire and had a great time.  This year I planned our trip.  We went to Bear Lake and stayed in the "Blue Beach House" and cooked over the stove!  Actually we had a gas grill so alot of our cooking was done on it.  We missed not having Griff and Whit and most of the Longs with us.  Boo and Malerie came, tho.  The first night we walked down the road and had milkshakes.....in fact we did that the first two nights.  We played at the lake with jet ski's and a paddle boat.  Jordan was in heaven with the paddle boat.  He didn't get out of it the whole time and designated himself as "skipper". We tried to hike to Bloomington Lake but hit snow and couldn't get to the lake.  It was so beautiful and green.  We went to Minitonka Cave.  The boys loved it.  Erin was all prepared when they turned out the lights at the end of the Cave and everything is in total darkness.  We had been there before for girls camp.  It was just so fun to hang out and be together without distractions.  Can't wait until next year!

We ate our famous "raspberry" milkshakes in the covered wagon.
